How fast will it grow or shrink? What will be the inflation rate? These questions are the legacy of Lawrence Klein, winner of the 1980 Nobel Prize in Economics, who pioneered the application of statistical methods to understanding and forecasting the behavior of the macroeconomy. Klein’s experience of growing up during the Great DEPRESSION had a deep impact on his professional career, drawing him to the study of economic fluctuations. After studying economics and mathematics at the University of California, Klein completed a Ph.D. San Jose Metro Map 2016.
