Map of La Chapelle-Gauthier for TV and radio Italian TV is appalling, with ghastly quiz shows, mindless variety programmes and cathartic chatshows squeezed in between countless artless advertisements. Of the three national channels, RAI 1, 2 and 3, RAI 3 has some worthwhile programmes and plays eclectic and interesting music, although the intelligent, satirical shows are often indecipherable to foreigners who have anything less than an encyclopedic knowledge of Italian politics from the last fifty years. Swiss television is similarly undemanding, with a diet of game shows, made-for-TV movies (dubbed) and lots of local news and local-interest programming, including from Radiotelevisione Svizzera Italiana (RSI). Satellite television is widely distributed across the region, and hotels with three stars and above usually offer a mix of BBC World News, CNN, and French-, German- and Spanish-language news channels, as well as MTV and Eurosport. Radio is highly deregulated in Italy, with the FM waves crowded to the extent that you continually pick up new stations whether you want to or not with the Catholic Radio Maria popping up with an uncanny frequency. On the whole the RAI stations are again the more professional though even with them daytime listening is virtually undiluted Euro-pop. For intelligent discussion programmes try Radio Popolare (FM 107.6). Each language area of Switzerland has three regional radio stations, one channel devoted to each of news, classical music and popular music (see Wsrgssr. Map of La Chapelle-Gauthier 2016.
