Some of the well-known pubs in Greenwich.
Trafalgar Tavern, opened in 1837, was famous for its fish suppers and Cabinet banquets, when the guests would be transported from Westminster in highly-decorated Ordnance barges to taste Greenwich whitebait and other delicacies. Distinguished diners included Charles Dickens and Samuel Pepys. To the left, Peter Kent’s riverside studio can be seen.
The new statue of Admiral Nelson, erected in 2009, stands looking out over the River beside the Trafalgar Tavern.
