If the cat was bitten on a leg, put a tourniquet above the bite, between the bite and the cat’s heart, and make it very tight. If you possibly can, hold the cat so that a stream of tepid water flows constantly over the slashes and washes out the venom.
FIRST AID FOR INJURIES
Slight cuts should be washed well with soap and water and made to bleed if they will; after that they should take care of themselves. If inflammation should develop, apply a hot, wet compress every hour until the wound opens, and after that several times a day. A slight cut is not likely to cause trouble.
