Map of Bad Liebenzell

Map of Bad Liebenzell for Julius crossed alone, using his staff as a rudder and his cloak as a sail, banished the monsters, founded a sanctuary and thus earned himself a sainthood. He died in 392, and was laid to rest in the church he’d built. In its place now stands a tenth- and ORTA SAN GIULIO LAKE ORTA eleventh-century successor, with a fine Romanesque bell tower that is easily visible from the mainland. All boats dock at the island’s southern point, beside the Basilica di San Giulio. From the church, the only street a picturesque cobbled lane leads around the island; it’s a twenty-minute walk, past the various buildings which make up the Benedictine convent, home to more than sixty nuns. In an attempt to preserve the tranquillity of the island, the sisters have put up double-sided signs in four languages at regular intervals along the walking route; if you walk clockwise, the path is the Street of Meditation; anticlockwise, it is the Street of Silence. Needless to say, the rather Buddhic contemplations on each sign are ignored by virtually everyone. Partway round is a pleasant little caf -restaurant. Note that you’ll be refused admission to the church if you’re wearing shorts or a short skirt. Map of Bad Liebenzell 2016.
