Lake Of The Woods Beer Fest Klamath Falls – USA Festivals

Lake of the Woods Mountain Lodge & Resort

Sitting at nearly 5,000 feet at the crest of the Cascade Range in Southern Oregon, 1,146-acre Lake of the Woods gleams and glitters in the summer sun, reflecting snow-capped 9,495-foot Mount McLoughlin to the north and framed by the looming bulk of nearby 7,350-foot Brown Mountain rising off the west shore. Located just off State Route 140 about halfway between Medford and Klamath Falls, the lake is a major attraction for outdoors enthusiasts who are drawn here by the alluring scenic beauty—and if ever there was a perfect place for a summertime beer festival, this is it.

Each June, Lake of the Woods Mountain Lodge & Resort brings in a variety of regional brewers for the Lake of the Woods Beer Fest. First established in the 1920s as a fishing camp, the lodge now features numerous cabins, a general store, RV sites, the popular Lake House Restaurant & Bar, and a full-service marina. The beer fest runs from midafternoon through midevening, and the modestly priced event ticket includes six tasting tickets (age 21 and over) and a festival logo beer glass; additional tasting tickets are available for purchase. Live music entertains the modest crowds and festival goers can buy tickets for the sumptuous BBQ buffet prepared by the Lake House Restaurant.

If the incredible mountain setting weren’t enough of a draw, this event provides an opportunity to sample ales produced by some of Southern Oregon’s small craft brewers, such as Klamath Basin Brewing and Walkabout Brewing, both of which have attended in years past, and beer aficionados can buy a pint of their favorite brew and enjoy the summer sun and incredible views on the resort grounds at the restaurant. If you need a break from beers, try one of the many creative cocktails available in the rustic bar.

Although Lake of the Woods is a fairly easy drive from Medford or Klamath Falls, the perfect way to enjoy this Saturday event is to stay at the resort, but make reservations well in advance; in addition, the US Forest Service operates two campgrounds on Lake of the Woods, both just minutes away from the resort.
