Patterns of open communication, collaborative problem solving, and autonomous behavior promote learning and positive relationships. Attachment relationships are generally stable from the preschool to elementary school years, with an overall stability rate of percent. In one study children who moved from secure to insecure attachment experienced a decrease in the amount of time and quality of the mother-child communication process while those children who moved from secure to disorganized attachment experienced more severe stress and loss intense conflict between the parents, parent’s death. Children on holiday who changed from insecure to secure attachments developed more emotion ally supportive and open communication patterns with mothers than those who remained insecure. So, improving communication and availability increase security, and stresses that interfere with sensitivity and availability dec rease secure attachment.
