Franklin, Benjamin (1706–1790)

Benjamin Franklin lived an extraordinary life. He has been called the first American by several historians, because he fulfilled the American dream and
was such an influential figure in colonial America and in the formation of the United States. He went from rags to riches and from obscurity to world renown. His industry, thrift, and ability to make friends contributed enormously to his success. Franklin was a man of many talents and many occupations, but his most notable roles included printer, author, inventor, scientist, statesman, and diplomat.
