Dota-Throne ‚ Defance Of The Ancients

Parents living in single-mother and in cohabiting families report that their children aged six to seventeen have a greater number of school difficulties, peer problems, more worries and anxieties, and, in high school, mood and school problems and noncompliant and less trustworthy behavior than are reported for children living with their married biological parents. When economic and parental resources are controlled, differences between children six to eleven disappear with the exception Unmarried Cohabiting and Single Parents of school difficulties, but in the adolescent years, differences between children in single- and two-parent homes are found at every economic and social level. Protective factors in the child, the mother, the parent-child relationship, and the larger social context buttress children from stress and predict positive outcomes for them. Eight protective factors were divided into four categories: the child’s characteristics positive sociability and attentiveness, maternal qualities efficacy and low risk of depression, parenting qualities positive parent-child relationship and fathers involvement, qualities of the larger social context social support and few difficult life experiences. In a sample of disadvantaged, never-married mothers, families averaged three out of the eight protective factors, and percent of families had five or more protective factors.
