LANGUAGE : English is spoken all over Ireland and accepted as the language of the country. In some outlying rural and coastal areas, however, there are districts where the Irish language (Gaelic) is spoken.
LAUNDRY AND DRY CLEANING : Laundry service is fast, clean. Two-day service. One day on dry cleaning.
LIQUOR 1: There is excellent Irish whisky. Old-fashioned, pot distilled with a barley base, it is not so smoky as Scotch. Dublin’s famous Guinness stout, as you know, is darker, stronger, than Continental beers. For residents, the liquor restrictions are slightly complicated, but foreign visitors registered at hotels may buy a drink at any reasonable time. Prices are lower than at home, about 30 cents a drink, including Scotch.
MEDICAL FACILITIES : Excellent.
